OUTLET

outletis envisioned as a dynamic space

of acceptance that engages, supports, and

connects the many community elements that are needed for promoting healthy children, youth and families

as well as leading young individuals to accept themselves without searching for acceptance in negative spaces.

A major component of O.U.T.L.E.T. is the Thriving Scholars Awards.

Programs, campaigns, scholarships, summits, seminars, and workshops are just a few initiatives that support at-risk youth according to their self-identified needs, issues, desires and

topics of discussion with goals set to strengthen community capacity, address needed community and system changes, reduce substance abuse prevention risk factors and achieve target outcomes for the nation’s children and adolescents.

This is all possible through partnerships with communities, council members and legislators, major corporations and sponsors, sports figures, musicians, artists, as well as philanthropic and individual giving.

Our youth take an “inquiry-based learning” approach to each group setting where powerful learning experiences are created fueled by their questions & comments.

Meanwhile, youth gain leadership skills that will prove valuable no matter what career path their future takes them or different cultures they may be exposed to.

After their “experience,” youth are better equipped and are more comfortable exploring their personal outlets,

how to use them in positive manners, and recognizing differences in each other but respecting all of the above.
