Intimacy Disorders occur when we are unable to express genuine emotions with the people we care about. Behaviors that disrupt intimacy are often shame-based and/or controlling.
These behaviors isolate and distance us from who we are and what matters most to us.
We all want love and respect, but often end up with power struggles, passive/ aggressive behavior, dishonesty, betrayal, emotional reactions, and emotional unavailability.
Intimacy Disorders result from REAL problems: addiction and abuse of alcohol and drugs sexual addiction, including affairs, pornography, multiple partners, and paying for sex, co-addiction, co-sex addiction, co-dependence, and love addiction.
Compulsive shopping or spending and gambling addictions, eating disorders or sexual health concerns and sexual dysfunction trauma, anger, violence, and abuse physical, sexual, emotional, spiritual, and intellectual disorders.
