Friends of Recovery

– New Hampshire

Friends of Recovery, NH is a grassroots organization of people in recovery, family members, and others who support addiction recovery.

FORNH and its family-focused partner F.A.S.T.E.R (Families advocating Substance abuse Treatment, Education & Recovery) address issues that the recovery community find important: stigma, lack of information about recovery, lack of treatment, and other obstacles to people getting the help to find recovery.

We spread the word about the value of recovery from drug and alcohol abuse and the effects of addictions.

The Issues and Why We’re Committed

For too long, recovery voices have been absent at policy and planning forums which greatly affect the recovering person.

Many funding decisions, concerning issues of education, job training, employment, child protective services, the juvenile and criminal justice systems and treatment have not included the voices and opinions of recovering individuals and their families

Our beliefs about how to solve the problems may differ but it is important that we identify opportunities to voice our opinions.

What agree that Recovery Works and we know that treating addiction is an important part of the solution.
