Green Door

Independence for

People with Mental Illness

Green Door is a community program that prepares women and men with schizophrenia,

bipolar disorder, and other mental illnesses

to work and live independently in the District of Columbia.

Green Door is recognized nationally as one of the most successful community-based mental health centers.

Each year, we help over 1,800 men and women living with severe and persistent mental illness to lead independent and productive lives.

We are the second largest center serving people with mental illnesses in Washington, D.C.
