Intervention Recovery Coaching

rebeccasmithRebecca Smith has offered alcohol/drug family Intervention and Yoga for Relapse Prevention classes since 1991. Also offers Life Coaching focusing on Recovery.

Rebecca worked in the addiction/recovery field in WA State (1981-1995) for several primary treatment facilities as Community Relations Director, Women’s Group Facilitator, and Interventionist.

She also owned a consulting firm for 12 years where she wrote Touchstone Newsletter, a recovery-oriented publication for the treatment community (she researched and wrote about alcohol/drug and other addictions within the context of holistic recovery).

She left working in primary treatment in 2010 to move to the Arizona Sonoran Desert, finish graduate school, and get Recovery Life Coach training to start this private practice.

She has been involved in the practice of Raja Yoga for over 20 years, having lived in an Intentional Yoga Community for four years, was a Meditation Group Leader for nine years, and has been teaching yoga for over ten years.

She believes recovery from addiction needs to be approached from a whole person perspective.

She has done extensive work with the Native American Tribes in Washington State, was spiritually adopted by a Lakota Sioux Elder, her drum blessed and was given a Native American name that means “She Who Dances in Two Worlds.”

Her formal addiction training includes studying with Native Americans at Northwest Indian College and learning to use the Medicine Wheel when approaching healing addictions from a holistic perspective.

She has been in personal recovery from alcohol addiction for over 35 years.
