Desert Star’s treatment philosophy revolves around the belief that every individual has, within themselves, the resources to recover from their addiction.
At Desert Star, professional staff assist the individual to unlock these resources, using a combination of modalities that include 12-step work, psycho-education, motivational enhancement, cognitive behavioral therapies (examining one’s belief systems and modes of thinking), Expressive Arts therapies, relapse prevention tools, trauma and grief work, coping methods, and stress reduction, along with an exploration of Mind/Body, spiritual needs and beliefs.
